I don't have any rules like that, because one day isn't enough time for me to formulate an opinion of a stocks future movement. If the stock goes up too fast it will come back down. If it goes above 34 and retreats to a point above 31, I'll place my bets that the stock is in an uptrend. I like it when a stock retreats after a rapid increase, gives it a chance to increase support at the lower price points. It also gives me a chance to increase my holdings :)
In this case, I don't think the stock will maintain any local highs it may make. Any increase is probably in reaction to the altavista deal, and those stocks are very volatile.
