We had clients who came to us in 1984 with long treasuries at 15 percent and asked: "Can I beat that in stocks for the next 25 years?" We had to respond that realistically it was not likely, and that if they wanted to put their entire wad into non-callable T-Bonds, it would probably be a pretty good bet. They have 11 years left to collect coupons.
