ECEA, a Union of European car developers, but also Ford, Chrysler,... have committed themselves volantalary, to reduce the cabondioxide for car engines to 140 gr/Kilometer instead of 185 gram.

The ECEA is talking to the azian developers to do the same thing.

It should be due in 2008.

The European Comunity has asked to reduce emmisions to 120 gr by the year 2012.

The 140 gr will be the first step. Later on (2003)the ECEA will evaluate the next step to the 120 gr.
