I've been reading with interest posts regarding the expected Stratus acquisition. Generally I agree that, at first blush, this may not make a lot of sense however if one considers data/voice convergence then Stratus may indeed be a worthwhile buy.

Stratus, as I'm sure most of you are aware, make fault tolerant Service Nodes, SCP, and other telecom infrastructure software (hardware too). The marrying of these voice oriented applications into the data world are critical to moving data/voice convergence forward more aggressively. Stratus will give ASND a wealth of experience in true telecom networking...a huge win I think. I guess my only concern is how deeply rooted, if at all, is Stratus in Service Provider networks? They appear to have a strong list of enterprise customers but seem light (non-existent) with the carriers. Can anyone answer this question?
