Egghead Expectations

I believe that the best way to evaluate an earnings report is to make note of positive and negative issues BEFORE the report comes out.

For my part, I am way too inclined to be swayed by the spin on the wording of the report & conference call, and by the "polyanna" type postings that usually follow. My myopia comes from being too close to the stock and too far from the market point of view.

So, my question is: What should I look for in the report with respect to earnings, one-time charges, market mix, and future prospects long and short term? What must be presented in these areas to maintain the value of the shares? Also, red flags. What red flags might one look for?

Any opinions out there?

Hal

Check out this site:

whispernumber.com

and look at the bottom of the page.

I got it from the Yahoo! thread. According to this page, the whisper for EGGS is -.18.

That would be really good...we shall see.
