The new kind of discriminations, such as evicting Indian scientists are knee-jerk reactions. The Indians will be back in droves.

Au contraire, they are more likely to be calculated moves than knee-jerk reactions. The US will do a careful job of purging a few selected scientists. And the rest of 'em who are allowed to stay here -- they will thank their lucky stars and go on with their lives...

As for Rajeev Srinivasan, it's almost as if he's hoping that Stephen King will allow him to co-author his next fictional thriller!

Dipy.

JPR: I take it as a tounge-in-cheek or, even better, sarcastic swipe at Secretary Albright's crude and rather undiplomatic comments about India.

As for politically apathetic Americans of Indian origin, I don't think they are any more apathetic than the 'local' Indians back there as some of both are very active politically even though the majority are not.I also don't know whether he is aware of the fact that most all Americans are politically apathetic as evidenced by the % of Americans that vote.Regarding all the other stuff I am afraid he may not be all that well informed about the day to day life of all Americans and of Indian origin in particular, but then again I don't know his whereabouts so I can't say for sure.

Whatever the intent was it was very amusing and funny or both,I thought.Anyway I enjoyed it,if not for the content but for the style, besides it did contain some facts.<g>
