Time will tell. Very soon we should hear another pinprick
and falling stock prices. Very soon, like within 2 hrs.
This balloon is self healing but its ability is waning.

The most compelling article was the ST Lois economist
yesterday.

You asked me what the professionals are currently doing?
I'd say they are doing some serious liquidation:

Bid Offer Last Year Ago
CBOT-Full 390,000 410,000 395,000 7/30/98 700,000

CME 276,000 350,000 280,000 7/30/98 525,000

CBOE 440,000 495,000 441,000 7/30/98 675,000

NYSE 1,340,000 1,775,000 1,350,000 5/31/98 2,000,000

Now some of this decline is attributable to commodity deflation but
recent trading(today for instance) appears liquidity driven IMHO.
