If you are referring to his Alma Mater, Cal Tech, I would assume Gordon would make a gift of Intel stock to the University for that purpose.

That way, Gordon could avoid the taxes on selling all those shares and Cal Tech would get the full value of the Intel shares - TAX FREE - when they sold them.

That is, I believe, the way the game is played.
