TA is technical analysis. It consists of a slew of technican indicators that can be used to forecast price movement. Some of the most popular are MACD, On Balance Volume, Bollinger Bands, Stochastics, Time Segmented Volume. Bob and I use them extensively, but we differ on which ones are the most critical. There are many good books out on these. It is a pure case of supply and demand...no fundamentals such as management, earnings, etc are taken into account.
It is a highly disciplined from of trading. Hope this helps...I am sure Bob will concur with the above.

George,
Try this site for an introduction to TA. It's a lot to take in. I would recommend you look at the indicators that Mike mentioned.

equis.com

Also Books on charting which goes hand in hand:

Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets By Stan Weinstein (this is a terrific book which if you haven't read is a must. I recommend this one first)

Using Technical Analysis by Clifford Pistolese (this is really a charting book also even though the title says Technical Analysis)
