"May the Lord reveal his perfect will to us and correct any errors that we hold." Amen, Emile, AMEN! Emile, You said, "Throughout the long history of Israel the true SEED of Abraham by faith had always been those who had the Faith of Abraham SEED by the election of grace." SO lets review these verses in Hebrews again; Hebrews 8 8: For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. Now these verses are addressing Israel, as we previously defined as the House of Israel and the House of Judah. Is your contention now that Israel are these two houses or, as you said above, those who had the Faith of Abraham SEED by the election of grace."? Wasn't it always, during Old and New Testament times, that by the grace of God that you were saved? Of course it was! No one could live perfectly by the laws of God, because we are sinners! Wasn't Christ prophecized clearly and accurately throughout the Old Testament and your belief in his coming a prerequiste for you being saved during Old Testament times? I think this coincides with your Faith of Abraham description. And if it just took the faith in believing in God, without knowing about Christ because they had no opportunity to know about him, if God suddenly told them Christ was coming, wouldn't they had to believe that to have their full faith in God? Now then, if it was always necessary to believe in the the coming of Christ before he came, or have full faith in God, whichever suits you, how could the reference in Hebrews say, "because they continued not in my covenant"? If Israel is how you described, characterized by the faith of Abraham, why would God say "you continued not in my covenant." Inherent in your defintion of Israel is the faith of Abraham [And we know Abraham had the proper faith in Christ and the proper faith in God, don't we?]. So now, how do we reconcile your definition of Israel? They needed to have the faith of Abraham to be considered Israel in your eyes, but then God says they have not continued in his convenant. Well did Israel, by your definition, have the faith of Abraham in Jeremiah/Hebrews or not? If they had the faith of Abraham, then why would they have not been continuing in his covenant? I look forward to your response. Let God keep us focused on the truth as we go on, by his grace, and grace alone..... God Bless, Steve
