Ken,

real MS data is not that time consuming when you automate the whole process. I output 8000 symbols to real MS directories and it completes before I finish dinner...

They are a while back, Ken, and I see several have answered you.
Even VMS can't handle 'changes in symbols, mergers, etc', but
'Report new Issues' and
'Report of Issue Changes' would give you the ones that need adding -- won't delete the old ones though :-(
-Bottom line: electrons are cheap -- rescan frequently.

Choose MSDATA, with its lack of overhead, if you rescan frequently enough.
