Eric:

Well maybe some valid points if one focuses just on the past 2-3 year record, and not the most recent 6 months and future outlook.

Hi Quad-K - Mr. MZIP does raise some valid points that the street is looking for too...

"...what is NOVL doing to sustain long term profitability?..." A better question is when will earnings begin to
be at 1996 levels and rising. I still remember the earnings forecast of $1.09 for 1998 made in early 1996 by
several analysts. New investors are happy to see $0.10 for the quarter.

"...What is there long range plan to handle their diminishing market?..." The facts are that Netware user
licenses are well below their 1996 levels and have yet to show steady growth (ie. several quarters) from their
lows.

If you look at Novell's performance over the last two to three years both earnings and Netware sales are
significantly lower...these are the facts!>>

I agree its going to take time, but damn it, Schmidt is pushing Java applications on Netware, is pushing NDS on NT, BorderManager, ZenWorks, and I can only guess many other types of products and applications yet to be revealed as fast as humanly possible for the growing internet/intranet market. The earnings will come, not much this year, but by Oct2000, I can see $1.00/share potential -- that's my own personal projection. I guess MZIP would like "instant jello" but if thats what kind of software he's used to installing/using at his $300 billion market-cap corporation (which I'm sure is either MSFT or GE........which one would you guess?? <s>) so be it. I'm very satisfied with the current progress by Eric Schmidt and his growing team at Novell. Rome wasn't build in a day, and either will the new Novell for that matter.

I guess we'll see within a few months and beyond who will really be sweating, NOVL with Netware 5.0 or MSFT with NT.??..Hawaii 5'O..

Just calling as I see it.

Regards,

QuadK

It's Pretty obvious that Mr. "Quad-K" would rather start
calling names and start putting labels on people instead
of addressing real business issues...

What is their plan? I would love to hear some real
concrete evidence of a NOVL turnaround... As for Microsoft
and NT, everyone who is at least a little technical
realizes that if you run your business on NT your an idiot...
I.E. They are still developing the bug-ridden OS while
your delivering content to your customers.... I.E. I understand
all the issues about Microsoft, OS2, Linux, etc... I develope
applications on SGI,SUN OS, Solaris, NT, 95, etc...
I understand all of this.... So don't waste my time arguing about
these issues.... The real question is what is NOVL going to
do to take over the desktop? How would you react to me if I tried
to convince you that SOLARIS is going to take over the world?
The personal desktop is where the REAL money
is to be made.... If you want to make REAL money on a stock, you
have to disconnect yourself from your biases... I.E. I bought
MSFT stock and hate the company.... It does no good however
for me to argue about how great the technology is if it can't
be sold to a mass market.... I.E. Beta vs VHS, OS2 vs Windows,
Linux vs Windows.... etc... If you bet on OS2 because you love
it technically, you lose... Do you know what I mean... I.E.
Novell Netware might be the best thing since sliced bread, but
if you don't give people a reason to think it is going to produce
REAL money in the future, there are better investments...

Quad-K sounds like he needs to disconnect himself from NOVELL
as a product and decide whether or not the stock will be worth
anything in 5 years unless of course if he is day trading it...

So call all the names you want, they won't do any good unless
you try to answer the first bunch of questions I asked... Then
you will be convincing me to buy stock.... Not just because
you LOVE NOVL and Hate MSFT.... I hate MSFT, but I make money
on the ignorance of the general public... You can too....

NOW BACK TO REALITY....

Later,
MZIP
