If you have the number at your finger tips, maybe you could toss it out and then I'll try to verify. It would save me a good deal of time most likely.

Looking at Coherent's last 10K, the entire company spent about $37M on R&D in '97. Cymer is on a pace to spend about $32/33M this year. So my question to you is, how can LP have a larger R&D budget than Cymer when Coherent's as a whole is only slightly larger? In addition, LP must spread this R&D over multiple product lines(industrial, scientific and medical).

Something doesn't add up here. They'll probably do about $20M in sales in DUV litho, but they are spending 150% of that on R&D!

Help me out.
