>>if 3Com issues another warning during this period...<<

talk about hype!... Have we been given any indication
to think this? Granted it can happen to any company, but
there has been no indication...if 3Com is smart, they
probably guaranteed this next quarter in the previous
quarter. Hey, this may be book-keeping tricks to some,
but it's a skill MSFT uses well (this may be considered
a bit of hype:-))

And, there are going to be a 1/2 dozen ANALysts who will
look pretty dumb just having upgraded...unless they don't
care, which wouldn't surprise me.

i agree and have stated so in the past why coms and asnd are not comparable in many respects, the biggest being coms acquired usrx and the baggage and asnd acquired cascade and the products which helped the bottom line.

in this case bringing on a new person, will not pay off immediately but will take time. the new coo will be able to help guide the street as ashby has done for asnd. coms needs to be more street and shareholder friendly, something i believe they are well on there way to based on the last q.

eric has not been a street guy, hence the new coo and the splitting of the position.

no pre-announce yet, none expected.
