<<<That their competitors are 6 months behind cymers 5000 series product?>>>

LOL. edgar-online.com

do a word search for "laser"...

"* SVGL has qualified an additional source of lasers for
its current and future versions of Micrascan systems, allowing the potential for the integration of such lasers into its system configurations.*

I like that "current and future" phrase. Have you checked out their Micrascan III. .18 Micron and below. Looks like the competition is already here.

re: shorting CYMI based on PE

In the very long-term if we assume a company with *NO* YTY growth, PE is a very important metric because it reflects a % returned to investors in the form of potential dividends. For example, a PE of 10 in this situation would indicate a 1/PE return (10%) to the investors.

For a small cap stock - like CYMER - or for Internet stocks with great potential market growth - the *CURRENT* PE's mean very little. Rather, the stock trades at a multiple of *EXPECTED* future earnings - so shorting or buying at this point based on PE alone is foolish unless you have a good understanding of how SMART MONEY is viewing the longer term prospects for the stock. Of course, we all know this.

In the case of AMZN, YHOO, and XCIT - had you made a decision to short based on PE alone - you'd be bloody deep in the red. For those stocks, I believe the SMART MONEY is looking at the rate at which the Internet is growing (doubling every 3-4 months) and coupling that with the limited amount of technical programming capital to yield a premium on these stocks future potential. An analogy could be drawn with CYMER, who is catering a CRITICAL PRODUCT to a very large GROWING semiconductor market ($150B-200B), while possessing a choke hold over 50% of the world's best laser nerd talent in the business.

Possible Potential Competition?

How about Kinda might have a little sorta possible potential competition.

Is this all just more of the same ignorance by the ANAList community? I mean how many analysists does it take to change a finkelstein light bulb, anyway? Either Cymer's management is blowing smoke up everybody's or this is just way mistaken. Are these guys (the analysts) short, or what? -Neal
