OT, I think I understand why the Red Sox would want to get Thomas for Vaughn long term because it would be better to have something rather than nothing. The only motivation I can see the White Sox having to do this is that the wouldn't resign Vaughn and they would lower their payroll for next year considerably. But as for this year you would actually weaken the offense of the Red Sox by replacing Vaughn with Thomas. Frank is having his worst year ever. An additional note is that Thomas is probably the forst fielding First Baseman in the American League. Another rumor that I heard on the radio this AM. The Indians will not get the Big Unit but they will get Roger Clemmons (sp?) by the end of the day! I have no clue how real that rumor is I beleive that came from ESPN.
