It still is not fast enough... over time I see these optimized JVM compilers will make JAVA programs run more than 15 times the current speed. There has been some talk of putting a JVM compiler on a separate chip to do pre-processing. This type of JAVA applet compiling would be an excellent feature a background Netware server could perform. Now wouldn't that make MS worry about their monopoly at the desk top. Here is an article I posted on the SUNW thread that talks about a company in Oregon with such a product...."JOVE".
