This is a wild guess on my part, but this may be the reason Datek made EASTE non marginable today. I know pre-market orders were accepted and executed (and maybe a few execution just after the open). No body ever said Datek was timely in responding to even the NASD.

If the ability to short EASTE resumes tomorrow, than I'll consider my conjecture wrong.
