Anything is possible. I've often wondered why the exceptionally hot summer has not done for energy prices what severe winters have done in the past.

I suppose the extent of any La Nina effect on energy prices would depend on how much overall energy use increases because of the (presumed) greater cold, how large an area is affected, etc. There are so many other variables -- the Asian economies' use of energy, the politics of the Persian Gulf, etc. -- that drive the price of oil, you can only act on your best hunches about future trends.

I think hanging around some of these energy equities will be worth the wait in the not-so-long run.

Good luck.
