3Dfx has very little in common with PAIR other than a similar chart. PAIR is in the losing market of data communications. The adage "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight" is applicable here. xDSL is not going to compare favorably cost or performance wise to cable modems anytime soon IMHO. PAIR cannot survive against the likes of BRCM, ATHM, COX and now T, in implementing bandwidth improvements for the average consumer at a competitive price. Their technology is not that convincing. Now, compare TDFX to PAIR and I think you see a market leader with advanced technology in a competitive market. TDFX is a leap ahead of PAIR in relation to their position in their market segment. While both of their markets are competitive I would say PAIR is the 3D equivalent of S3. Last in a line of pretenders posing for the crown. Regards, Stuart
