Question:

I understand the fundamentals of floorless convertible debentures...

My question is, How does the holder of the debenture actually go short? My understanding is they do not have to actually short the stock before converting, but in fact can have a short position from the debenture itself..

Could anyone kindly explain exactly how they do this.
Thanks in advance.

Dave
