While watching CNBC you should always keep in mind that first and FOREMOST they are news people. Their major concern is ratings not to be cheerleaders for the market or .....well whatever the opposite of a cheerleader is. Yes, they have gotten a bit worse lately when it comes to hyping a topic just to get the TV's tuned in, but if you keep this in mind while listening to them you can usually weed through the crap and get some valuable information from them. The only thing that REALLY aggravates me about them is when they give a teaser about a news flash & then go to a commercial!! Really blows the whole point of watching them all day. Today they announced "an FDA decision was made in regards to Amgen. We'll fill you in right after this.."

I've been following Amgen & was about to jump in only because I wasn't sure what was going on. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed and that little voice said... Nah, don't leap into an unknown.

************* General Question to All ************
Mindspring begins trading options tomorrow (7/31)
Have any of you ever dealt with this situation? Is there any kind of way to exploit the first day of option trading?

CNBC seems to lean to the negative...
I watch CNBC all day long. Haynes, Kernen, and Faber - professional traders - act responsibly and simply deliver balanced business reports.

Watch the change in tone with Ron Insana. He is always negative and to alesser extent, Bob Pisani.

Economics are based on the interpretations of a myriad of factors. ITS A BEST GUESS AT BEST!!!
