There was a time when Cyrix was actually profitable. Not that long ago. At one time the 6x86 was even a viable rival to the Pentium...
Then there was overproduction, heat problems, Intel came out with MMX, Jerry Rogers quit and Cyrix has never been able to do squat since.
Having to fab with IBM always left them a day late and a dollar short on a leftover process.
We are still months away from seeing if they have a chance to rise from the ashes.
