You're right. Nobody really believes Jerry anymore. It only traded up $1 7/16, and it was on average volume. Probably Day Traders hoping for a quick bounce.

Look how Briefing.com reported it:

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) 15 11/16 +13/16: possibly in an attempt to make Merrill Lynch analyst Thomas Kurlak eat his words, semiconductor chip maker declares that its manufacturing problems are over. Going forward, company sees losses narrowing and a return to profitability in the 4th qtr. In that Q4 will be profitable, this is not news, as Wall Street was already anticipating a profit of $0.04 (with one analyst actually looking for $0.25). Nevertheless, news should be short-term positive for AMD. Over the long-term... well let's just say that AMD has a tendency to trip over its on feet....
