Barb: I am saying that the short interest figures were in the millions ( like 3.5 million) for NVX back in 95 ,96 timeframe. Sturza has been shorting the stock since 93, 94 timeframe ( short interest was very high then). Read any of Sturza 's newsletters of that period. You will see his early recommendations to short NVX were when the stock was $8 bucks and he had a target of $3 bucks. He hAd a report out on NVX at least once a month back in that time period. His report of 4/96 had the stock at 12 to 13.
Shortly after that NVX floated the convertible bonds the stock shot up to the 20's and sturza uped his target to 5 bucks.

Anyone who has been in NVX since 93 won't question my comments on at what level the stock was shorted. If anything i may be way high on the price most shares were shorted at. The real number is perhaps closer to 10 bucks.
What has gone on to get to were we are to day doesn't really matter to me. Fact is short interest figures have approx. 4 million shares short today in NVX and I'd say to cover for that amount will be one hell of a problem. we'll see.
UNTIL YOU COVER YOUR SHORT YOU HAVEN'T MADE ANY MONEY. Even if all 4 million shares were shorted at 30 my guess would be the shorts as a group will be big loosers.

Barb:
Sturza (the short leader) first started shorting NVX back in
the 1993 -1994 time frame when the stock was 8.13. If you look
at old Sturza model portfolios who will see that his cost basis
was 8.13. He has raised his cost basis on current portfolios because
he has recommended shorting more at the higher 20's level.
The story is this..the stock was in the 8's and he attacked. He
had Dorfman pan NVX 3 times on CNBC and the short interest swelled
to 2.9-3 million shares.. (That is a fact). The stock was driven
down to 5 3/4 and then rose from there. The short interest has
NEVER been lower than 2.9 million and was a high as 4.2 million
and IMO, it will be closing in on 4.5 million at the close of the
july-august period. For some reason, they think that they can crack
the longs but for nearly 4 years the truth of what NVX has in
potential has proved a stronger factor than his half a page
of periodic prose. Research the facts; get the annual report;
and then decide. This is a fine company that if not taken over
in the not to distant future will have incredible revenues from
their product pipeline and reward shareholders.
