djane,

I see you stepped in it a little over here <vbg>.

Folks, in djane's defense ASND is doing well in the core. Recent numbers posted by Dataquest, IDC, and Verticle systems confirm that ASND is #1 in frame relay switch revenues and I beleive #2 or #3 in ATM switch revenues. They are making thier numbers again and the stock has doubled since the begining of the year.

BUT, djane, in Ibexx's defense and as I pointed out to Bindsugar (sorry for the spelling), ASND hasn't won any major carrier contracts since they took GTE from CSCO. During this time CSCO has won Sprint, USWest, and Singtel (yes, bigger than Frontier). CSCO recently annoucned is new ATM switches and apparently this has stalled some carriers purchases...perhaps because they are evaluating them. Also keep in mind that CSCO pratically owns the enterprise space so I suspect they want to go after new business opportunities - new growth. Certainly the carrier market is one of those spaces. Now, remember how ASND got beat up in the RAS space when CSCO entered? So, I suspect things will get interesting here.

In the end if we look at revenues to the carrier market I believe CSCO has a slight lead and yes, ASND is doing well. The future....well, perhaps your guess is as good as mine..but it is going to get more interesting I suspect. ASND has had a free run for a while because CSCO thought they were self destructing. I'd say ASND has Chambers's attention.
