<<Tell us about it. I figured it had to happen given the well educated
middle class in India. Language translation software could be huge also.>>

I was wonderin how long it was going to take for someone to knibble that one!!

Well, about a year and half ago, there was a rumor that some smart-alecky kid in India had developed an OS that runs on Intel PCs that is much faster and more efficient than Windows.

MSFT allegedly offered the lad a nice, but small sum to acquire his technology. He refused and the last I heard, he's been developing his own company. I think I'll have to hunt down the thread where I got this info.

We in the west are such techno slobs that we think we're are the only solution in technology. One day someone come up from behind and takes it all away. MSFT could be the next Apple in that respect. We all could.

History is littered with such upheavals in technology. The highly proliferate Neanderthals gave way to the smaller Cro-Magnon. Iron gave way to bronze. Armor became useless when firearms were developed. etc.

The Asian way of thinking is also much different from the western way of thinking. I'm sure someone out there can brainstorm a new way of interfacing with a computer. Perhaps palettes of floating buddahs....Hmmmm.
