Holly-

Good to see you back. Yes, the Parents issue is out; the PO delivered ours yesterday. It was a few days late because it was sent to our old address.

Penni's article is great. My wife laughed out loud several times when she read it. It's worth the whole price of the magazine.

Michael took his first step today. It was only one but it won't be long until he'll be running us ragged. He'll be 10 months old a week from Sunday.

Life is good. I wish I could say the same for my golf game.

Hi Holly! Did you take one of those mental health sabbaticals from the threads? I guess people are out enjoying their summer weather. It works the opposite here; it's so hot that you leave the house only when absolutely necessary. I understand our heat-related death total is approaching 100 here in Texas-it really has been brutal and it seems to have no end in sight...still two more months left...
The water gestapo caught me the other morning. I was watering on the right day, but it was after 8 am. They knocked on the door and said turn it off. Now I'm looking at all my neighbors suspiciously, wondering who turned me in. Maybe it was my children, who probably figure that if the lawn dies, they'll never have to mow it again. When we go by someone's green yard we say nasty things, accusing them of bribing city officials and cheating. Paranoia runs rampant. The water company patrols neighborhoods looking for violators. THe rules are complex and everchanging. You can water on odd or even days depending on your address, but never on Monday, and preferably not on weekends, and sometimes they arbitrarily decide no one can water for three days. All the even numbers are angry at the odd numbers because today is the first and they got to water yesterday and today, which wasn't fair. And now their side is greener. I'm an even. I got up at midnight the night he made me stop the cycle in the middle to finish, only then it was technically an odd day, so I lay in bed waiting for the police to knock on the door for two hours.
Yes, the magazine is out! I don't understand why they haven't called me to report that complimentary mail is coming in from all over the country! Let's get busy out there, dear friends. I need work. It's going to be expensive to replace this lawn.
