That is what I kept doing last two weeks. I plan to hold August calls till expiration. (through earnings report).

Geoff: very good post. I agree that option is zero sum game but then if you subtract the commission, then as you said it would become a negative sum game. Therefore, I like to take my money and run and not wait until expiration date to grab the last dollar. Usually that will backfire.
