I believe that they are labeled irregular because they were after the market close. At quote.com
trades after the close are labeled frmT. These trades do affect that day's volume, but are not listed in the graph and will not change the day's high, low, or close (at the above site they are on a black background -during trading hours, trades are on red backgrounds if they are at the low for the day, green if they are at the high for the day, and white if they are in between). Yesterday's summary's show that the last trade was 2000 @ 11 13/16. Real time quotes show a volume of 5900 today, indicating that there is trading again before the open.

Yesterday, after the close there were 5 such trades in LGND that were executed between 16:01 and 16:06. Just before the close, LGND's bid was lowered to 11 3/4. After the close, the first two trades were at 11 13/16 and the last three were at 11 7/8.

Don't expect anything but spin from henry, but then again, 'finance is not his area'

(He'll spend months cybersluething, but don't expect anything but an off-the-cuff answer to your question)

The 5900 shares that was on real time quotes can now been seen at the quotecom site:
quote.com
It was executed at 8:02:23 and was a 5900 share block at 11 13/16. It is also labeled frmT and is on a black background (it will show up in today's volume, but it too will not affect the high, low, or open and will not show up in the chart).

Although finance is not my area, I can read a graph (and accurately post what it says). I suspect that our most famous naysayer who posts exclusively on price, will be clueless on your specific question (he has already put up 4 meaningless posts this morning).

Is asking someone about their (incorrect) prediction of $30 really meaningless?

Well, at least andy get a couple of bottles of wine out of it ;-)

The quotecom site:
quote.com
now has put up this mornings bid/ask numbers which are 11 3/4 X 11 7/8 with a size of 1000 each. These are unchanged (in amount) from yesterday's closing numbers although the size of the bid changed from 2000 to 1000.

Speaking of action before the open, it looks like Links to Ligand at home.att.net will hit the 20,000 hit mark this morning before the open.

(the page at home.att.net is closing in on the 30,000 hit mark).

This morning the first three trades on LGND were each 100 shares, but the volume is listed at 6200 because of the 5900 share block at 8:02.

Mudcat, Last week I gave you a bit of a primer on LGND's trades after hours and before the open. I guess that our famous naysayer wasn't paying attention. What does he base those predictions on???

I guess this very interesting discussion is (somewhat) on topic, but henry really should have brought it to the clubhouse instead of cluttering up the thread. Must be a slow day in Pittsburgh :-) (I've been at the shore all day, so he can't blame this one on me!)

It's hard to imagine why LGND trades would be considered off topic. I can see how made up stories about cancelled trades, buys being labeled as sells, and after hours trades being called out of sequence trades could be off topic since they have no basis in fact, but an analysis of the DATA or a correction of the misinformation is certainly OT.
