MZIP,

I have to thank you for your Contrarian views of NOVL. It has stimulated this board a bit while the stock waits for the Q3 report, NW5 release, and NDS on NT release.

You do have enough knowledge on technology to be dangerous and most industry outsiders could easily be convinced by your views.

Unfortunately you dont have a good grasp of the industry. You have made several statements already that you have quickly retracted. The biggest one was that control of the desktop is where the money is.

Amoung several of your recent postings you stated that why would I buy NOVL NSCP and other software when MSFT will give all for free. Beleive me - its not for free. You are paying for it.

The other mis-step statement is that NOVL now has IP but your windows, win95 and NT have already had this. You dont understand what we are trying to get across to you. NetWare has always had IP and for a long time clients could connect to NetWare servers with NW/IP. The difference is that NW5 will be using native TCP/IP services to provide connectivity between the server and the client. This is something that NT currently and for the foreseeable future cannot do! MSFT networking requires the NetBios based protocol to provide connectivity. The IP that you think MSFT is using is only used as a transport of this inefficient protocol. NOVL has broken away from its inefficient protocol and it was painful, but, MSFT doesnt even have serious plans to break away from theirs. Just connect a Network Analyzer onto your NT network and see how much traffic is being generated.

There are just soo many other holes to punch through your postings that I would have to write a book about it.

MZIP, if you are in control of any IT Shop directions, I would strongly suggest you get out of that role for the good of the company. If you are not providing IT direction to your company - keep it that way! Leave this job to someone in your company that has a better understanding of the industry. Just some from friendly advise.

Thanks again for getting us going. We needed it on this board!
