Softbank Says New On-line fin services as option

TOKYO, July 31 (Reuters) - Japan's Softbank said a entry into new on-line financial services covering audit and tax consulting is an option, but no detailed discussions are underway.

Earlier, the daily Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that Softbank was considering setting up new firms in Japan by the end of March 2000 which would deal with such on-line services.

"It's just an idea, and we haven't begun to consider it closely as of yet," a Softbank spokeswoman said, when asked about the newspaper report. "There aren't any definite plans at the moment," she added.
