FYI, SEG said last winter/spring sometime that they were increasing their stake in Dragon from 25 to 35 percent; I would guess that has already happened. Did Janet say anything about that? SL is the guy who has been making the software decisions for SEG, and I suspect that what you say is right, that there will not be a change in their relationship due to Al's departure.

Look at the one day chart. When the stock trades in a very narrow range near the IPO pricing, it tends to suggest that the underwriters are supporting that trading range. They step aside if they start losing too much money, obviously.

Maxtor's one hope was to hit a good patch for their IPO pricing. Then they could have used their extra cash to hunker down. Having failed that, their prospects are very, very iffy. Then again, if the stock collapses, I'm sure someone's willing to overpay for the franchise. :)
