I'd say Katmai in the beginning of Q2-99 is about right. Even then what's it going to cost? . Over $700 at least. And Direct 7X about June 99...Direct 6X hasn't even been released yet and the release date was supposed to be July 17th...Isn't the Katami slot 2 and will require a new case? Meanwhile, there could be about 15+million K6-2s out there before Katmai...3DNOW drivers will be plentiful. Jim

Kevin - Re: " A more recent roadmap at Toms shows the intro of Katmai at the end of Q1, 1999." Why don't you check TOM's report for the Mendocino launch date. You will find that Mendocino launch has been pulled in about a month from his RoadMap schedule - August 24 is the "new" launch date. As for Katmai sampling - that report was written 3 months ago. I suspect select developers are already seated in front of Katmai PCs, writing custom graphics routines to take advantage of the double precision FP SIMD instructions. Paul
