Jim, The declining newspaper readership story is an interesting comment on America. Many to, dare we say, most Americans are nearly functionally illiterate with an attention span measured in micro seconds and then only if they are watching the Jerry Springer show.

Why the Amazonia.nuts think printed book peddling is a great industry is beyond me. Experienced book sellers grouse/worry about this every time you let them get into a reflective mood.

Regards, DWW

My point, they were weak to
start with and the inet was just the straw. This brings up another point, people read less
today and depend on e-media (TV/Inet) to provide. Less books are being read too. What
does this say for amazon's future? Is the future in e-books?? I

Jim,

Thank you for clearing that up. I did forget about TV hurting the newspaper industry too. Newspapers are finally making their advertising costs affordable to the small business man such a me. I suppose supply and demand are kicking in.
