jlallen,
Of course, the Clintonistas want the approval rating poll to stay above 50% to aid their anti-impeachment campaign. For a little more insight, I just picked this up from Free Republic regarding the polls:

Polls-- What they don't say

7/31/98

I also believe that as more of this becomes public it will be the democrats who will have the problems in Congress. They would have to try to explain to their constituency how they can support a man that has done the things that will be outlined.

Don't get so worried about the polls, remember no one except Bob Novak, especially not the polls projected the Republican landslide of 1994. The Right is energized while democrats are hiding.
