Cognitronics to Sell Voice Information Systems to
Allegiance Telecom

DANBURY, Conn., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Cognitronics Corporation (Amex: CGN - news) announced today that
Allegiance Telecom, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGX - news) has selected Cognitronics' McIAS(TM) l6xx/IP product technology to
provide voice announcement services on its competitive local exchange networks.

Allegiance is a competitive local exchange carrier headquartered in Dallas, Texas providing businesses with a complete
package of telecommunications services, including local, long distance, international calling, high speed data transmission and
Internet services. Allegiance has installed Cognitronics' McIAS 1610/IP voice information systems on its Lucent 5ESS digital
switching systems in three major cities to provide voice information services to its customers, including network, number
change intercept and automatic number announcements. Allegiance is targeting additional major metropolitan areas in the
United States for implementation of its ''one-stop shopping'' package.
