Baird, what do you mean by a message that you "were out of the trade."?

Did you check Daily Activity and see it marked Cancelled? If so, did you save a copy of this screen?

What about the Open Orders screen? Did you check this?

As I mentioned long, long ago, you MUST either copy or print the Datek Daily Activity screens every time you get a confirmation of anything. Buys, sells, cancellations, even Open order status. It will be your only proof when this will (not if) happen to you. After a few instances when they basically blew me off when I complained , I adopted this practice, and have won on these issues whenever they occurred.

What I do is, during the day, I save the pages each time, then, if after the market closes, the D/A page still shows everything correctly, I print that page, along with the Portfolio page. I keep these to match with the mailed confirms.

Whatever works for you, but that's your only hope of redress.
