I agree with your comments. I look at competitor concerns as a good thing - it keeps the company focused on maintaining its market leadership. There is a big difference between operating a laser in a company laboratory and operating it in a production environment (along with supporting and maintaining it).

If I was a competitor of CYMI's trying to overcome their market and support presence, I don't think my PR would go like this: "Hey mister (potential) customer, I sell an inferior product, cannot give you three (installed) references, and do not have the infrastructure to support you should you decide to buy my laser."

As has been discussed on the thread, competitor comments need to be taken with a grain of salt unless they provide/contain verifiable evidence. For all we know, the $4mm in Lambda orders could be to an affiliated company/division that does testing. However, I'm sure that CYMI's primary customers are working with Komatsu and Lambda in hopes of developing a reliable secondary source. It is in their best interest and financially/operationally prudent. As it presently stands, CYMI is either the gateway or the bottleneck regarding the move to .18 and below.
