More old news Cody. Will White Water Rears Its Ugly Head When Starr Wraps It Up? Editorial 07/31/98 Michael Smith Since the Lewinksy scandal broke six months ago, an odd thing has occurred. The White Water case, which was the reason Ken Starr was intially appointed independent counsel, seemed to fade into oblvivion with emergence of a juicy sex story. But despite what the media would love for us to believe, has the White Water case really died and been buried without a funeral? The last news that came out regarding White Water was anything but hum drum. Just weeks before the Lewinsky story broke, a major, though well-hidden story by the mainstream media, broke regarding a large number of White Water related documents having been discovered in the trunk of a junked car in Arkansas. These documents, which came from the defunct Madison Guaranty Savings, included a check in excess of twenty thousand dollars made out to Bill Clinton with the term "Payoff Clinton" written on it. It was reported that there were literally thousands of other documents in that trunk, and at that time it was speculated that Clinton was highly implicated as a result. Even the late Jim McDougal threw in his two cents in acknowldegment that the evidence found in the trunk would "hang the Clintons." Ironically, the unfortunate auto mechanic who discovered the documents died in a bizarre automobile accident a few weeks after the discovery. The media have now declared the White Water portion of the invesigation dead. The Clinton Spin Machine has rewritten the case history for us. We now know that no evidence and no convictions were ever obtained from the entire investigation. Apparently, Ken Starr was on a three year vacation. Never mind that he got numerous convictions and amassed a huge amount of evidence, which is sitting somewhere in a vault waiting to be unveiled. There is a time and place for everything, and it is likely that the ghost of White Water is soon to materialize when Starr wraps up his investigation. What will no doubt take the spin doctors and sympathetic media members off guard is the potential wave of high level indictments that will come, not solely as a result of the Lewinsky case, but to a large extent as a result of White Water evidence. Starr has been building a case for obstruction of justice for a long time, and he hasn't been keeping a secret of it. Out of being in a constant state of denial, the liberal media and spin machine kept it from public view, but a surprise is in store. Get ready for "That's old news!" from the propagandists on the day this massive wave of indictments is filed. And don't forget, Queen Hillary may have the pleasure of being among the indicted. If Ken Starr believes in the law as much as he says he does, the wave of indictments will be breathtaking and all inclusive. The naysayers claim he would never dare attempt something so outrageous. However, the last time I checked, Starr was not concerned with complying with the court of public opinion, but the law. In the end, the law is all that will matter. Mrs. Clinton, I hope David Kendall can work you into his very busy schedule.freerepublic.com
