Exclusive: Siemens Semi To Cut Back DRAM Production
(7:25 p.m. EDT, 7/22/98)
By Jack Robertson

He vociferously denied published reports that Siemens
was thinking of closing any fabs or selling off its
DRAM operation.
"We are now positioned strongly
for the 64-Mbit DRAM market, as the first
semiconductor company to operate 100 percent deep
ultraviolet (DUV) sub-0.25-micron DRAM processing
fabs. We are in the best position to continue
aggressive DRAM die shrinks to increase yields and
cut costs," he said.
