Luzco came from the investment banking business. He helped Shugardt with the purchase of the s/w business, this is how he got into Seagate. He does not have a technical background, its a business background. I'm sure that Luzco had the full backing and support of Pearlman, in fact, I'm feel certain the Pearlman wanted Shugardt out of the company.

What a mess the dd companies got into.
