THQ could buy the European operations of another publisher, in order to enhance the foreign operations. After all, Farrell has said that the international market offers significant growth opportunities for THQ. I'm not sure what THQ could buy from Cendant. The Cendant Software division could be worth well over $1 billion, so I don't know what THQ could buy from CD with only $60 million. Perhaps Berkeley Systems? Who knows? Maybe THQ will spend the money in several places: Buy a European distribution channel, acquire some licenses/titles, buy a small development studio. I don't know how smart it would be to simply buy a public company outright. That would be questionable.
