>>It has been more than four years since portfolio manager Worth Bruntjen got burned playing with derivatives. The pain, however, may be just beginning.

The Securities & Exchange Commission announced on July 28 that it will launch a case against Bruntjen, Piper Capital Management, and five other employees of the investment management firm for securities fraud. The agency will seek fines and cease and desist orders from the individuals and the company. An attorney for the firm dismissed the case as ancient history and "a late hit."<<

Jim,
I love the part about "a late hit". What do they think? that time changes the fact that they committed a crime? If it had been their money that was lost to the fraud, they would be singing a different tune.

I have little doubt that the market can be manipulated. Have you read the book "Blood in the water on Wall Street". YOU would love it!
