Because, like techmeister said, I think we're very
close to bottom. When we get close to bottoms, we're
much more likely to see gaps up and a retrace upward.

Also, there was massive down pressure in the last 1/2 hour
by shorts on the whole market and on COMS. Somebody was
doing a lot of buying at the end, so this will make
shorts think a little bit monday morning and maybe back
off somewhat.

Furthermore, imo, the end of the day sell-off was way over done.
The GDP problem is a non-problem. The market was hesitant
about it all day long, and people had lots of time to
sell during the day. Instead, they waited till the last
minute, and there was a herd mentality to bail out. Over
the weekend, I suspect that people will realize the economics
are still in place pretty well.

Economy is still strong, interest rates are still low,
earnings are still pretty good, future earnings are still
bright enough to keep the market going. Inflation is not
a problem.

The month of August is a problem, but there's still a lot
of liquidity in the market, so all those fund managers that
haven't had a chance to lock in 20% gains will get a 2nd
chance.

Overall, I'm optimistic.

As far as my memory goes, coms has been gapping up every morning, only to find itself totally exhausted in less than 5 minutes. And it did it everyday! Amazing! What a dog!
