Gary and TraderDad, The Datek margin issue may have been a computer glitch. Roger Babb said he got the same message on MSFT and that it seemed to be the case with all stocks.

Must have been that Naz2K bug from a couple weeks ago.<g>

Not being marginable will also dampen the momentum of any upside rallies. Anything that makes AMZN more boring than it already is should dampen enthusiasm of the rabid bulldogs.

No way. If there's money to make, they would not be turning away clients just to save themselves some "headaches." The exact same thing happened with ktel, and the week it dead, the stock began its inexorable trip south. My guess is it has something to do with the sec investigation into these bozos (it's at least 3 months old). SEC and crew are probably watching the hypermanic stocks to see if datek continues to consistently be the only broker with shares to short and sniffs around asking some questions (like are you allowing clients to short phantom shares again, or where are you getting these shares and why is no one else on the street getting them?).
