I think parallels to Nixon are appropriate. Nixon's popularity did not suffer seriously until the tapes were released. Once the 18 minute gap was publicized, he was dead (politically speaking). Assuming Starr really does have the goods on Bubba (by which I mean more than getting a beaner from Monica in the Oval Office) I think that when the indictments get laid out he will suffer the same fate.
