Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the great info! It is a tremendous benefit to the rest of us, that you guys (Chip, et al, and all of the others please feel included) put out the time and effort to research, interview, and dig out the good data.

Thanks again, Tommy

Jeff, Boot came up with the same numbers as PC gamer.
bootnet.com

I threw the numbers into a spreadsheet and compared them with the numbers from Tom's last 3d roundup. On average the single board 12MB Voodoo2 was 1/2% faster than TNT. Since these numbers appear to be pretty final stuff, I think we can expect TNT to have EQUAL performance in D3D. Glide will be the kicker here. SLI still king. Looks good to me Jeff.

<<Turns out, it ain't so crazy. This has been talked about a great deal, and they do have some kind of deal with ERTS and ATVI. >>

To PAY for content! That's new to me, but not such a bad idea.

A merger with STB would be awesome. Net income per Voodoo2 would at least double. The problem is that 3dfx would have to cut off current boardmakers and STB might have trouble continuing deals with current chip suppliers. i.e. The transition would be a bitch. A merger would raise the possibility of $4-$5 per share next year because of cost reductions in vertical integration alone. Revenues for STB would shoot through the roof as a sole supplier of 3dfx products. (Had STB been sole source last quarter, their revenues would have been at least triple the $78M they got.) Let me see...at a 20 PE that would be...<sigh> I guess I should stop torturing my self with what-ifs. Oh, well. Anybody have any toilet paper? I ran out of 3dfx stock certificates.

:-O

OK, OK! What's the deal again for getting people free memberships? Where do I vote for Jeff?

Calling the CEO just to save $200 bucks on the membership... sheesh!

Chip
