PC, I have no idea why Ascend would want Stratus. But, then, I never did know why IBM wanted Rolm or ATT wanted Burroughs, so I am no brainiac on these things. My guess is that for the rumor to take hold the way it did, there had to be something, a strategic partnership or some bit of connection. Is Ascend a buy? Let's just say I like it better in the low 40s than I liked it in the mid-50s. I would still prefer the mid 30s to buy in again, but if the market bounces, ASND should bounce quickly off this big move down in one day. MB
