A large number of small factories were sifted out. ú A batch of color TV and household electric appliance manufacturers started VCD player production later 1997, ready to surpass the former ones. The demand for VCD player in1998 is expected to be around 16 million, up 60% over the previous year. Market share of domestic VCD players is expected to top 80%.
